Rapid Prototype for a Startup in the HR Reskilling Area
Challenge
The client came to us with a tight two-month deadline, but internal delays left just one month to deliver a working product for exhibition.
Their goal was to impress investors and sell the product to the future enterprise customers. We had only the designs at the start, and were tasked with building a product around an ML/AI model provided by a separate team. The core challenges included:
- Non-scalable designs: Required redesign for rapid development
- AI model integration: Handling unknown outputs and performance
- Tight timeline: A two-month scope compressed into one month due to delayed onboarding and approvals
- Post-event expansion: Continuing the product evolution smoothly, retaining all the code after the event

Implex's communication was timely and transparent. The developers were independent enough, but they also asked the right questions. There was nothing Implex could have improved on. I was very happy with them.
Solution
Our team took full ownership of both the front-end and back-end development, building the product around an external ML/AI model within a one-month deadline. The project required close collaboration with the client and their Product and AI teams to ensure seamless integration and intuitive user experience.
1. Adaptive UI implementation
Starting from existing design files, we proposed adjustments to simplify and accelerate development. These changes were accepted and later recognized by the client, who expressed interest in involving our design expertise for future initiatives. The front-end was implemented using React, Redux, and Styled Components, allowing us to quickly build a responsive and intuitive interface optimized for both desktop and mobile users.
2. Robust back-end & AI model integration
While the AI model was developed by a separate team, we were responsible for integrating it into the platform and ensuring that the system could handle its inputs and outputs effectively. Despite limited visibility into the model’s internals, we successfully connected the back-end to process skill data, interpret results from the model, and generate meaningful outputs, such as job role recommendations and job descriptions. Our team also built the infrastructure needed to manage file uploads, data parsing, and secure communication with the AI engine.
3. Fast, stable prototype delivery
Within the one-month timeframe, we delivered a fully functioning MVP in time for the exhibition. The application enabled users to upload a file with people and associated skills, retrieve role recommendations, identify missing skills for target roles, and generate tailored job descriptions — all powered by AI and supported by a stable, scalable architecture on both front-end and back-end.

Results
These results were driven by a combination of sharp expertise, close collaboration, and an ownership-driven approach.
From on-time exhibition delivery to long-term product expansion, our impact was tangible and lasting.
The success of our delivery was clear:
- Prototype delivered on time for the exhibition showcasing
- Product expanded post-event into a real-world HR system
- Client satisfaction led to our team being invited to other projects and Implex continues working with the client for years
- Demonstrated flexibility: Our developers were praised for their problem-solving and delivery speed
What made it work:
- A highly capable, senior team able to quickly interpret vague requirements and build smart workarounds
- Close collaboration across other teams (AI, back end, and design)
- Ownership mindset — our team didn’t just "deliver code", but addressed challenges
We’re proud that we made it work under pressure. The client brought us into future projects, which speaks volumes about the trust we built.
